Win in our #RunEveryDay challenge with Ron Hill

Our Run Every Day Challenge is back for 2016 and there are prizes to be won!

This October Melton Sports is teaming up once again with Ron Hill, the leading British running brand, to share and celebrate the simple joys of running.

The idea is to encourage people to put together their own run streak and share their experiences via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help spread the #RunEveryDay message.

A run streak can be anything, a week, 10 days, 20 days or the full 31, whatever you feel comfortable with or have time for.

And every run counts, be it a club run or organised race, a breakfast run, a run-home-from-work run or night-time run. In other words, short or long, quick or slow, it doesn’t matter as long as you go!

To give you that extra little motivation we have five #RunEveryDay running tees to give away to support the campaign and mark the launch of Ron Hill’s autumn/winter range at Melton Sports.*

Three tees will go to the winners (first man, woman and junior) of the Great Dalby Dollop, a four mile trail run to be held on Sunday, October 9 (more details below) with the remaining two destined for the runners who best embody the spirit of the #RunEveryDay challenge over the course of the month.

It’s all about giving it a go and sharing your experiences and pictures via our social media platforms @meltonsports

To get you in the mood here’s our running diary for the first 10 days of the month:-

Saturday, October 1 – Melton parkrun, Melton Country Park 9am; Eaton Stampede 11am, a 10k trail and 5k fun run/walk in aid of Dove Cottage. Advance entry is £10 (£7.50 affiliated, U12s free with an adult) or £15 on the day. Pick up a flyer from the shop or visit Eaton Stampede on Facebook. There’s a medal and cake at the finish!

Monday, October 3 – Melton Running Club, Play Close, 6.30pm, couch to 5k plus a choice of three/ four miles or six mile routes.

Wednesday, October 5 – Stilton Striders’ town run (five or seven miles), Melton Sports Village, 7pm.

Thursday, October 6 – Stilton Striders’ structured (coached) session, 7pm. For meeting place check website.

Saturday, October 8 – Melton parkrun, Melton Country Park 9am; Free advice/drop-in treatments with sports massage therapist Alex Rainforth, Melton Sports, 11am to 2pm.

Sunday, October 9, 11am – Great Dalby Dollop 5k trail run/walk in aid of St Swithun’s Church. Entry is £6 (U11s £3) in advance. Pick up a flyer from the shop or visit Great Dalby Dollop on Facebook. Gift and cake for all finishers. Hot food and drinks will also be on sale.

Monday, October 10 – Melton Running Club’s #runandtalk event to help mark World Mental Health Day, Play Close, 6.30pm.

There are 6.4 million keen runners in the UK and, hopefully, after this month you will be forgiven for thinking that many of them are here in Melton as there is so much going on running-wise!
