Why Reformer Pilates is for you
Reformer Pilates is now being offered at three studios in Melton, but what exactly is it, and how does it differ from mat Pilates?
Well, it uses a specialised machine called a reformer which adds adjustable resistance through springs and pulleys. Movements are controlled and can be more dynamic with deeper muscle engagement.
Reformer Pilates works the whole body, building strength without impact, promoting proper alignment, and engaging the core. It improves balance, coordination, posture and body awareness.
It can enhance joint mobility, reduce back and knee pain and supports injury recovery under professional guidance.
So whether you’re a sportsperson, someone who is health conscious, or a senior looking to stay strong, maintain balance and look after joint health, Reformer Pilates is for you. Think health, strength and longevity.
The key, as with most things, is consistency. It might feel unfamiliar at first but once you get in the flow, you will discover a greater harmony with your body.

There’ll be less tightness in the hips, hamstrings and shoulders, fewer niggly injuries and your body will feel a new freedom. Calm may displace stress, and you’ll probably sleep better, too.
