Celebrating 10 years of Melton Sports
This summer marks 10 years of Melton Sports and we’d like to thank all our wonderful customers, friends and super team, past and present, for helping us reach this milestone.
Our catchphrase is ‘for beginners to winners’ and we were certainly novices when we opened our door for the first time in July 2014. Thankfully, we are fairly quick learners and haven’t made too many missteps.
It almost goes without saying that the High Street is challenging – we’ve navigated Covid, Brexit and a cost of living crisis – but it’s also rewarding being part of a great sporting community here in Melton. We simply love hearing about your sporting goals and charity challenges and working with schools, teams and clubs.
Our ‘superpower’ is our high level of personal service and, while we are proudly independent, we benefit from being a member of a buying group. It means we have top brands at fair prices, while our Shop Local card rewards customers further – so why go anywhere else?
Even after 10 years, though, there’s little time for reflection. We are already looking forward to welcoming a number of new brands in 2024-25 such as Mizuno Netball, Oofos recovery footwear, Castore gym clothing and Merrell walking shoes and boots.
And we’re going on ‘tour’ this summer with our pop up shop. Come and see us and enjoy some great days out.
- Saturday 3rd August – Mowbray Rangers Summer Fun Day with Leicester City in the Community and lots of activities and entertainment
- Sunday 18th August – Hamilton Charity Fun Run and Family Fun Day. You can run, walk or don fancy dress and then enjoy live music, family games, tennis and pickleball and refreshments at Hamilton Tennis Club
- Sunday 25th August – Great Vale Show, Hose, a great family day out with entertainment, family dog show, classic vehicles, craft fair, fun fair, sports day events and more
- Sunday 1st September – Melton Lions’ It’s A Knockout, Play Close Park, team games, fun fair, stalls and food and drink.
